FINAL: UPPER ST. CLAIR 16, WOODLAND HILLS 10

9:52 p.m. - Bad snap by WH. USC's Mac Pope recovers at WHills 29. This one is over. Final stats later.

9:50 p.m. - First down WH on third and 10. WH at USC 49 with 43.5 seconds left.

9:47 p.m. - 62-yard punt by USC's Jesse Slinger. WH first at 20-yard line. On second down, Miles Sanders runs for 20 yards. 2:12 left.

9:43 p.m. - Woodland Hills QB Harry Randall fumbles and USC recovers at own 18. J.J. Conn been playing QB for USC past few possessions.

9:41 p.m. - This game getting exciting. WH now at USC 37. Five minutes left.

9:37 p.m. - 40 yard FG attempt by Harold. Had problems with snap. Blocked. Wood. Hills takes over at its own 35.

Washington wins 26-14. Shai McKenzie finishes with 234 yards.

9:32 p.m. - USC driving. Now at Woodland Hills 32. Players starting to cramp up here. Not surprising. No way they're used to this heat and playing this long.

Thomas Jefferson has gone ahead of Ringgold, 24-10.

Big Brad Everett reports Shai McKenzie has 234 yards rushing for Washington.

9:27 p.m. - End of third and it's USC 16-10. Woodland Hills third-and-10 from its own 11.

UPPER ST. CLAIR 16, WOODLAND HILLS 10

And on 19th play of drive, Woodland Hills' Cassiday kicks a 27-yard field goal. Cuts lead to 16-10.

Wow. TJefferson and Ringgold tied, 10-10.

9:12 p.m. - Player to watch in future: Woodland hills sophomore lineman Amon Baldwin-Youngblood. He's 6-3, 330.

Woodland Hills has kept ball entire second half so far with one drive. Now at USC 9 timeout with 4:15 left in third.

9:09 p.m. - Woodland Hills driving. Got first down on fake punt.

Blocked punt sets up TD and North Hills has taken 14-7 lead on Penn-Trafford.

9:06 p.m. - Woodland Hills throwing little more at start of second half, but with no success.

9:02 p.m. - USC's Rori Blair getting QB pressure all night but having trouble wrapping up and making tackles. 

9:01 p.m. - Bad way to start second half. Woodland Hills has to take timeout before first play.

9:00 p.m. - USC has real weapon in kicker Max Harold. Every kickoff has been a touchback.

HALFTIME: UPPER ST. CLAIR 16, WOODLAND HILLS 7

Besides a 34-yard run by soph. Miles Sanders Woodland Hills offense did nothing. Passing game non-existent. Total yards for WH 53. USC 108 yards rushing. Typical USC team. So solid in many areas. Sure Jim Render liked a special team big play. Blocked punt by Rori Blair gave USC a safety.


8:24 p.m. Woodland Hills passing game non-existent. Attempted only one pass. USC after good punt return threatening to score again.

Jake Bruder hits Kindhal Taylor with 54 yd TD pass and NHills ties Penn-Trafford, 7-7

8:18 p.m. - Joe Repischak runs nice QB draw. goes 24 yards on third and 10 for TD. Kick good and USC now leads Woodland Hills, 16-7


Interesting. Gateway and Latrobe tied, 7-7.

8:09 p.m. - Rori Blair, who didn't play last year, blocks WHIlls punt. Ball goes out end zone. USC goes on top, 9-7

8:03 p.m. - USC ties it. Nice drive 80 yards in 11 plays. Only one pass. Mac Pope caps with 1-yard TD run. PAT good. 7-7 with 9:19 left in half.

END OF FIRST QUARTER: Woodland Hills 7, Upper St. Clair 0

USC on move again. Third and 6 at WH 48.

7:49 p.m. - Miles Sanders 5 yard run for TD and PAT good, 7-0, WH.

7:47 p.m. - Third and 4 for WH at the USC 5.

7:45 p.m. - A star in the making? Soph. Miles Sanders runs 34 yards to the 11.

7:41 p.m. - WH punts. USC takes over at own 12. Panthers were moving on first possession.

7:38 p.m. - USC fumbles ball away. WH takes over at own 38. Harry Randall playing QB. WH running out of wildcat.

7:35 p.m. - USC two first downs on first possession. Now in WH territory.

Shai McKenzie 37 yards on 7 carries after first quarter for Washington

McKeesport off to good start under another George Smith era. Leads Hempfield, 6-0.
