PREGAME
As the sun sets, we get ready to start week No. 9.
** If Montour wins, it will clinch the No. 1 seed in the Parkway Conference. If West Allegheny wins, this could end up as a three-way tie for the conference title between West Allegheny, Montour and Central Valley.
** I'm thinking Montour by a touchdown.
** Montour honoring some midget-league football teams on the field. The team of 6- and 7-year-olds was honored first. Oh I just love that there are organized football teams for 6- and 7-year-olds. Makes so much sense, almost as much as the flag football leagues I seed advertised that start for 4-year-olds.
** Where are they now? Andrew Johnson (pictured), who played running back at Central Catholic and North Hills, and then at the University of Miami and Akron, is now an assistant coach for West Allegheny.
** Lot of media here. John Fedko here. MSA Sports in the house. Justin McKim and Steve Negler handling the broadcast.
** Not that any of you care about this, but wow, what a spread of food in the press box by Montour AD Mitch Galiyas. But never mind the good food. Fridge is full of grape soda. Nothing like grape soda. Can't remember last time I had one.
